For builders and contractors
Construction website design that wins you the bigger builds.
Somebody about to spend six figures on a new house, or hand a firm their office fit-out, checks you over before they ring. They want to see what you have built, whether your badges are real and who deals with the paperwork. We build construction company websites that answer all of that on one page, and if you want the work coming in faster, we run your Google Ads from your own account.
The calls go to your phone and nobody else's. We don't sell the job on to anyone.
- £100 a month inc VAT
- No setup fee
- No contract
- Most live within 3 days
Who is checking you
Three buyers, three different checklists.
A construction firm rarely sells to one kind of customer. A homeowner planning a new build, a business owner after a fit-out and a main contractor filling a subcontract package can all land on the same website, and each one is checking for something different before they get in touch.
The sums are big. Cost guides put a three-bedroom new build at £126,000 to £300,000, and a buyer weighing that sort of money reads your website properly before they pick up the phone.
The homeowner
TrustMark, the government-endorsed quality scheme, tells homeowners to check a builder is registered for the trade they need, get three quotes and take up references. They also want to know who sorts building regulations, because approval is separate from planning permission and they will need the certificates when they sell.
The commercial client
Fit-out buyers carry the dearest clicks in construction. They want finished projects like theirs, by sector and size, and proof of the insurance the law requires once you employ anyone: employers' liability with at least £5 million of cover.
The main contractor
Contractors and public buyers can pre-qualify you through Build UK's Common Assessment Standard, certified every year by bodies such as Constructionline, Veriforce CHAS and Achilles. The website will not put you on their list. It is where they check you are the firm on the certificate.
What goes on it
What a construction website has to prove.
Most construction website design is sold on how it looks. Looks count, but the buyer is checking facts, and these are the facts we put on yours, written from what you send us.
Finished projects, with the detail
Each build gets what it was, where it was and how long it took, with your own photos. One finished extension with a before shot does more work than a gallery of stock cranes.
Badges a buyer can check
The FMB warns that some firms claim a membership they don't hold. So every logo on your site sends the buyer to the scheme's own check, and if you are TrustMark registered we say which trade it covers.
Pre-qualification, kept current
Common Assessment Standard certificates are renewed every year. We name your assessment body and update it through the monthly tweaks, so a supply chain manager never finds last year's.
Insurance, stated plainly
Employers' liability is the law from the day you take someone on, and the fine is £2,500 for every day without it. We state the cover you hold. FMB members already had their public liability checked to join.
Who carries the CDM duties
On a home job, HSE says the client's duties under CDM 2015 normally pass to the contractor, or to the principal contractor where there is more than one. Saying so on your website shows a homeowner you know what you are taking on.
Planning and building regs, honestly
Say which you handle and which the customer arranges. Building regulations approval is separate from planning permission, and the person doing the work can be prosecuted if it does not comply, so this is no place to overpromise.
What you get
One page to start, a page per service later.
Everyone starts on Momentum, a one-page website for £100 a month. For a builder with one main line of work, say extensions and new builds round one town, a single page holds the whole case: your best projects, your accreditations, your insurance and a button to ring you.
If you are a main contractor bidding for frameworks, with policies, tender documents and a careers section to publish, you need a bigger website than this one.
Fast Start adds the rest when you want ads: a page for every service and area you advertise, up to 50 in all, so the ad for "office fit out companies" lands on your fit-out page and the one for new builds lands on new builds.
Momentum, £100 a month
- A one-page website built to win work
- Made to turn visitors into phone calls
- Words written to win the job
- Your best work shown off
- Quick to load on a phone
- Leads sent straight to you
- Tweaks and updates every month
Fast Start, £300 a month on top
- A page for every service and area you advertise
- Ad copy written, images made
- Call and lead tracking installed
- Run and tuned around the clock
Your ad budget is separate and goes straight to Google on your own card. You set it, and we agree it with you before we start. We run Fast Start on a minimum budget of £500 a month.
What it costs
The monthly figure, with VAT in.
Few construction web designers publish a price, so you usually have to ask before you can compare. Here is ours, with VAT in and split by who receives each pound.
Put a whole year of Momentum next to one job: £1,200, against a new house that starts at £126,000.
| What you have | Paid to us | Paid to Google | Your month |
|---|---|---|---|
| The website (Momentum) | £100 | Nothing | £100 |
| The website and the ads (Momentum + Fast Start) | £400 | From £500, on your own card | From £900 |
All prices include VAT.
What a click costs
What one construction click costs you.
The dearest searches in construction are the commercial ones. "commercial fit out companies" runs at £39.83 a click, against £2.64 for "construction companies near me". Pay that for a fit-out buyer who lands on a thin website and leaves, and you have bought nothing, which is why the website comes before the ads.
Demand moves with the year as well. Searches for "construction companies near me" reach 8,100 a month in September and January and fall to 3,600 in December, so a budget that suits January is too big for December.
| The job | What people search | Searches a month | One click |
|---|---|---|---|
| Commercial fit-out | "commercial fit out companies" | 390 | £39.83 |
| Office fit-out | "office fit out companies" | 880 | £31.51 |
| New build | "new build contractors" | 260 | £13.81 |
| Commercial builders | "commercial builders" | 210 | £10.29 |
| Building firm | "building firms near me" | 590 | £5.62 |
| Design and build | "design and build contractors" | 210 | £4.42 |
| Local contractor | "building contractors near me" | 1,600 | £2.99 |
| Construction company | "construction companies near me" | 6,600 | £2.64 |

Who owns what
What stays with you when you leave.
Your project photos and the write-ups of your builds are your content: cancel, ask, and we send them back along with your form leads. Your domain stays with you, and on Fast Start so does the Google Ads account and its history.
The website build is the one thing that stays with us. It comes offline when you cancel, which is why you will never hear us call it yours.
| What | Who owns it | If you leave |
|---|---|---|
| Your leads and customers | You | Every customer you won stays yours. Ask and we send back your form leads. |
| Your domain name | You, and you pay for it | Stays yours. Point it wherever you like. |
| Your Google Ads account (Fast Start) | You: your name, your card | Stays with you, campaigns and history included. We remove our access. |
| The website build | Us | Comes offline at the end of the month. It cannot be moved or exported. |
About Google
We sell the ad slot, not a ranking.
"No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google."
That is Google's own line, and it is why we don't sell SEO, even though several construction web designers near the top of the results bundle it in.
What you can buy is the ad above the results when somebody types "building contractors near me", with a click price you can look up before you commit a pound. Fast Start runs it from your own account, on a budget you set and Google bills to your card.
Straight answers
What builders ask before signing.
- How much does construction website design cost with you?
- £100 a month with VAT included, for a one-page website, its hosting and changes every month. No setup fee and no build fee. Fast Start, which adds the Google Ads and a page per service and area, is £300 a month on top, and your ad budget goes to Google on your own card, from £500 a month. You also pay for your domain, which stays yours.
- Is a one-page website enough for a construction company?
- For a builder or small contractor with one main line of work, yes. One page can carry your best projects, your accreditations, your insurance and a way to ring you, and it gives a visitor nowhere to wander off. If you sell several services across several areas, Fast Start adds a page for each one you advertise. A main contractor that needs tender documents, policies and a careers section needs more than this offer is built for.
- Should I put my FMB, TrustMark or CHAS logos on my website?
- Yes, but only the ones you hold, and each linked to where a buyer can check it. The FMB warns homeowners that some firms claim a membership they don't have, and TrustMark tells them to check a registration covers the trade they need. One badge a buyer can verify does more than a row of logos they can't.
- Will a website get me onto tender lists?
- No. Contractors and public buyers pre-qualify suppliers through assessment bodies such as Constructionline, Veriforce CHAS and Achilles under Build UK's Common Assessment Standard, and that certificate is renewed every year. The website backs it up: when a buyer looks you up after seeing your name, they find projects and paperwork that match.
- How long until my construction website is live?
- Allow three days from the point we hold your details and project photos. Send real photos of finished builds and the name of every scheme you belong to. The copy is ours to write, and nothing goes live until you have said yes.
- Can you run ads for commercial work?
- Yes, that is Fast Start. Commercial searches cost the most, with "commercial fit out companies" at £39.83 a click, so each ad lands on a page about that exact job rather than a general one. The account is in your name with your card on it.
- Is there a contract?
- No. You pay by monthly Direct Debit with no minimum term, cancel through the form on our website or with your bank, and it ends at the close of that billing month.
- Do I own the website?
- You keep what it wins: your leads, your customers and your domain name, and on Fast Start the Google Ads account as well. The website build stays with us. It is live while you pay, and if you cancel it comes offline and cannot be moved elsewhere.
