For gardeners on a round

Websites for gardeners that turn a one-off tidy into a regular visit.

We build and look after a website for your gardening business that shows a homeowner what you do, which streets you cover, how a regular visit works and how to book one, then puts their call straight through to you. If you want more of those calls, we run your Google Ads as well, from your own account. Every lead comes to you and nobody else.

The timing matters more for gardeners than for most trades. UK searches for "gardener near me" peaked in March, April, May and June and were about 6 times quieter in December. The round you work all summer is mostly put together in spring.

How gardening customers choose

The round gets filled in spring.

A homeowner who rings a gardener is usually after one of two things: a garden sorted out once, or a garden kept on top of all season. The first is a day's work. The second is a customer you see every week or fortnight from March to October, and it is what keeps a round full.

So a gardener's website has a different job from a plumber's. It has to be live before the grass starts growing, and it has to sell the regular visit as clearly as it sells the clearance.

Spring decides the year

"Gardener near me" went from 14,800 searches in February 2026 to 33,100 in March. "Grass cutting services near me" peaked in March and was down to 1,900 by August. A website that goes up in May has already missed March and April.

One visit, or a season of them

The RHS says lawns should generally be mown weekly or fortnightly between March and October. That is about 17 fortnightly cuts. At Checkatrade's average of £30 an hour for mowing, one fortnightly customer is worth about £510 a season, by our sums.

Gardener or landscaper

The National Careers Service splits them: gardeners grow and look after plants, landscapers build paths, walls and water features, often from a designer's plan. Customers search for each differently, so the website should lead with the work you want most of.

What the website has to show

What a homeowner checks before ringing you.

The RHS gives homeowners a checklist for hiring a gardener. Ask for references and photographs, speak to previous clients, look for proof of formal horticultural training, and settle who takes the rubbish away before the work starts. A gardener's website can answer every point of it before the phone rings.

Your waste carrier registration

Garden waste counts as household waste. gov.uk tells a householder who pays a business to take it away to check that business is on the register of waste carriers, upper tier, and warns they could be fined if it goes to someone not allowed to take it. Once you are registered, your details are on that public register anyway. Put the number on your website.

Who takes the cuttings

The RHS calls the disposal of rubbish a common cause of dispute and tells customers to agree it in advance. Say on the website whether green waste leaves with you, and if it is in the price, so it never comes up on the doorstep.

Regular visits, explained

Weekly or fortnightly, what a visit covers, and how you charge for it. A customer who can picture the whole season on your round is far easier to book for it than one who only knows your day rate.

The streets you already work

Name the towns and villages you cover. A homeowner who sees you are already in their area knows you are nearby and can come back every fortnight without a long drive.

Before and after, from real gardens

The RHS tells customers to ask for photographs, so show them: the overgrown border and the same border cleared, the lawn in March and in June. Your own pictures, from your own jobs, never stock ones.

Certificates, hedges and weedkiller

The Gardeners Guild only accepts gardeners with a Level 2 horticultural qualification or above. HSE says anyone using a professional pesticide product, weedkillers included, has needed a specified certificate since 26 November 2015. gov.uk names hedge cutting as work that can harm nesting birds. If you hold the papers and check hedges for nests, say so.

What you get

One website, built around the round.

Everyone starts on Momentum, a one-page website. For a gardener that one page carries the services you offer, the area you cover, how regular visits work, your before and after photos, your waste registration and a button to ring you.

Fast Start adds the Google Ads and a page for every service and area you advertise, so a homeowner who searched for hedge cutting lands on hedge cutting, and one who searched for a clearance lands on clearances.

What a click costs

What homeowners search, and what a click costs.

These are the searches a homeowner makes when they want a gardener, with how often each is searched and what one click costs in Google Ads. The most searched is "gardener near me", at £2.78 a click. Lawn care costs the most. At these prices, a visitor who leaves your website without ringing is money you have already spent, which is why the website comes before the ads.

Who owns what

The round stays with you.

A gardener's real asset is the list of gardens you visit every week or fortnight. Every one of those customers is yours, and none of them was sold to other gardeners as a lead before you got the call. Your domain is yours too, and on Fast Start so is the Google Ads account, history and all. The table below covers the one part that does not go with you.

About Google

We sell clicks, not rankings.

"No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google."

Plenty of web designers who sell to gardeners bundle in SEO, and one we read says ranking well "will guarantee quality enquiries every week". Google's own guidance says otherwise, so we leave SEO out. What you can buy is the ad above the results when a homeowner near you searches for a gardener, at the click prices above, from your own account. That is Fast Start, and the time to have it running is before the spring searches climb.

Straight answers

What gardeners ask before signing.

How much does a website for a gardener cost?
£100 a month, VAT included, and that covers the website, the hosting and changes every month. Nothing to pay for setup or the build. If you want us running Google Ads as well, add Fast Start at £300 a month, with an ad budget of at least £500 a month that goes to Google on your own card. Your domain name is the only other bill, and it stays yours.
My round is full from word of mouth. Do I need a website?
The RHS says jobbing gardeners are often recommended by word of mouth, and on the same page it tells homeowners to ask for references and photographs before they hire. A recommendation gets your name looked up, and the website is what they find when it does. If your round is full and stays full through spring, you may not need ads at all.
When should a gardener get a website live?
Before March. Searches for "gardener near me" went from 14,800 in February 2026 to 33,100 in March, and grass cutting searches peaked in March. The build takes about three days once your details and garden photos are in, so autumn and winter are a good time to get it done.
Should my waste carrier number go on my website?
If you take garden waste away, yes. In England you must register as a waste carrier if your business transports waste, and gov.uk tells householders to check the register, upper tier, before handing their waste to a business, because they can be fined if it goes to someone not allowed to take it. Showing the number saves them the search. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland register carriers differently.
If I stop paying, what happens to my customers?
They stay yours, every one of them, along with your domain name. If you were on Fast Start, the Google Ads account stays with you too, campaigns and history included. The website build is ours, so it goes dark once that month is out and cannot be moved to another host. Ask and we will send back the leads that came in through your form.
Will it put me at the top of Google?
We leave SEO out of what we sell, because Google's own guidance is that no one can guarantee a #1 ranking. The space above the results when somebody near you types "gardener near me" is an ad, it has a published price per click, and Fast Start pays for it from your own Google Ads account.
I do some landscaping as well. Does that change the website?
It changes what the website leads with. The National Careers Service describes gardeners as looking after plants and landscapers as building paths, walls and water features, often from a designer's plan. A fortnightly lawn customer and a patio customer search for different things and want different proof, so lead with the work you want most of. On Fast Start, each gets its own page.
Is there a contract?
No. You pay by monthly Direct Debit with no minimum term, cancel through the form on our website or with your bank, and it ends at the close of that billing month.
Do I own the website?
You keep what it wins: your leads, your customers and your domain name, and on Fast Start the Google Ads account as well. The website build stays with us. It is live while you pay, and if you cancel it comes offline and cannot be moved elsewhere.
