For carpenters and joiners
A carpentry website that fills the diary with the big jobs.
Carpentry is bought with the eyes. Before anyone rings about a run of wardrobes or a new staircase, they want to see one you have already built. So we build carpenters and joiners a website around photos of your finished work, written to win the jobs worth having, with a call button on the screen the moment it loads.
If you want the work coming in faster, we run your Google Ads too, from an account in your own name. Every lead comes to you, and nobody else is sold the same job.
- £100 a month inc VAT
- No setup fee
- No contract
- Most live within 3 days
How your customers choose
They hire the carpenter whose work they've seen.
Homeowners are told to judge a carpenter on the work before the price. The hiring advice they read says it outright: for bespoke work, ask to see photos or samples of previous projects before agreeing anything. A website with a list of services and no finished jobs gives them nothing to judge, so they move on to someone who shows them.
The same advice tells them to ask whether a piece will be made in a workshop or built on site, because that changes how long the job takes and what it costs. Saying which on your website answers a question they were going to ask anyway.
Your work also comes from two directions. First fix and second fix on a new build or a renovation tends to come through a builder or a site manager who already knows you. The wardrobe, the staircase and the oak doors come from homeowners who don't, and those are the people a website is for.
What they ask before ringing
Have you done one like mine? Can I see recent work? What timber, and can I see a sample? Is it first fix, second fix or both? What is in the quote, how long will it take, and is it a day rate or a fixed price? These are the questions homeowners are told to put to a carpenter.
What they check
A written quote, public liability insurance, recent reviews, and someone who explains the timeline and the materials clearly. For structural work or anything under building regulations, they are told trade body membership is an extra layer of reassurance.
Small job, big job
Hanging a door is about two hours of work. A fitted wardrobe is two to five days. Both customers search for a carpenter, so the website has to make plain which one you want more of.
What the website shows
Built around the jobs you want more of.
We write every word and lay it out so a homeowner can judge you in the time it takes to scroll. You send the photos, and we put the best of them where the decision gets made: next to the job they show and the button to ring you.
Here is what goes on a carpentry website we build, and why each part is there.
Finished work, sorted by job
Wardrobes with wardrobes, staircases with staircases, doors with doors. Real photos of your jobs, close enough to see the joints and the finish, each one captioned with what it was. A stock photo of somebody else's staircase tells a customer nothing about yours.
Workshop or on site
Say where the piece gets made. If you build in the workshop and fit in a day, or build in place over a week, the customer knows what to expect before they ring, and you stop explaining it on every call.
Their questions, answered first
Fixed price or day rate, what the quote covers, how long a typical job takes, how deposits work and what guarantee you give. Answered on the website in your own terms, so the call you get is about their job.
Proof that is really yours
Your insurance, any trade body you belong to, such as the British Woodworking Federation or the Institute of Carpenters, and real reviews. Only what you actually hold goes on.
Fire doors, if you fit them
FIRAS certification is held by a company, not a person, and both FIRAS and BM TRADA's Q-Mark fire door installation scheme publish who is certified, so a buyer can look you up. If you hold either, the website names the scheme and gives your certificate number. If you don't, it makes no fire door certification claim at all.
One tap to ring you
The call button is on the screen as soon as the website loads, and it loads in under two seconds on a phone. Form leads come straight to you.
What you get
One website now, a page per job when you advertise.
Everyone starts on Momentum, a one-page website. For a carpenter that page carries your best finished work, the jobs you want, where you work and a button to ring you, and nothing that gives a homeowner a reason to wander off.
Fast Start adds Google Ads and a page for every service and area you advertise. That matters in carpentry because the jobs look nothing alike: someone who searched for fitted wardrobes should land on a page of your wardrobes, not your door hanging. The ads run from your own account.
Momentum, £100 a month
- A one-page website built to win work
- Made to turn visitors into phone calls
- Words written to win the job
- Your best work shown off
- Quick to load on a phone
- Leads sent straight to you
- Tweaks and updates every month
Fast Start, £300 a month on top
- A page for every service and area you advertise
- Ad copy written, images made
- Call and lead tracking installed
- Run and tuned around the clock
Your ad budget is separate and goes straight to Google on your own card. You set it, and we agree it with you before we start. We run Fast Start on a minimum budget of £500 a month.
What it costs
The monthly bill, split by who gets paid.
You would expect a customer to want the full price before you start. Here is ours, with VAT in, no setup fee and no build fee, and every pound marked by who receives it.
With ads, the least you would spend with Google is £500 a month, on your own card. At carpentry bid prices that buys roughly 29 clicks on "bespoke fitted wardrobes" or roughly 104on "carpenter near me", which is why the website those clicks land on has to be right first.
| What you have | Paid to us | Paid to Google | Your month |
|---|---|---|---|
| The website (Momentum) | £100 | Nothing | £100 |
| The website and the ads (Momentum + Fast Start) | £400 | From £500, on your own card | From £900 |
All prices include VAT.
What a click costs
The dearest searches are for the work you want.
In carpentry the price of a click follows the size of the job. "bespoke fitted wardrobes" costs £16.92 a click and "internal door fitting" £1.80, about 9 times less. If a £16.92 click lands on a website about hanging doors, it is money spent on the wrong customer.
The busiest searches are the general ones, and "joiner near me" is searched more than "carpenter near me", so if you do both, say both. What the same work costs when you buy it as a lead from a lead site is in our guide to carpentry leads.
| The job | What people search | Searches a month | One click |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bespoke fitted wardrobes | "bespoke fitted wardrobes" | 1,000 | £16.92 |
| Fitted wardrobes | "fitted wardrobes near me" | 3,600 | £13.80 |
| Fire doors | "fire door installation" | 1,600 | £11.99 |
| Bespoke staircases | "bespoke staircases" | 390 | £7.36 |
| Door fitting | "door fitters near me" | 2,400 | £5.61 |
| Carpenter near me | "carpenter near me" | 12,100 | £4.78 |
| Joiner near me | "joiner near me" | 14,800 | £3.60 |
| Internal door fitting | "internal door fitting" | 880 | £1.80 |
Google Ads keyword data for the United Kingdom, pulled September 2026. These are bid estimates, so what you pay for a click usually comes in under them.
Who owns what
What stays yours when you stop paying.
If the customer who had the wardrobes rings again about the stairs, that call should come to you, not through a lead site that charges you for the same customer twice. So the customers and the leads are yours, and so are your domain and, on Fast Start, the Google Ads account. The website build stays with us, and the table says what that means if you leave.
| What | Who owns it | If you leave |
|---|---|---|
| Your leads and customers | You | Every customer you won stays yours. Ask and we send back your form leads. |
| Your domain name | You, and you pay for it | Stays yours. Point it wherever you like. |
| Your Google Ads account (Fast Start) | You: your name, your card | Stays with you, campaigns and history included. We remove our access. |
| The website build | Us | Comes offline at the end of the month. It cannot be moved or exported. |
About Google
We sell the top of the screen, never a ranking.
"No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google."
Every carpentry web design offer we read sells local SEO and a line about ranking. Google itself will not promise anyone that spot, so we leave it out.
The space at the top of the screen when someone searches for a joiner in your town is an ad. It has a price per click you can see before you spend anything, and Fast Start buys it from your own account. How that works for trades is in Google Ads for tradesmen.
Straight answers
What carpenters ask before signing.
- How much is a carpentry website with you?
- £100 a month with VAT included, for the website, the hosting and changes each month. No setup fee and no build fee. Google Ads through Fast Start add £300 a month, plus an ad budget of at least £500 a month that you pay Google directly. Your domain name is the one other cost, and it stays in your name.
- How quickly can it go live?
- The photos usually take longer than the build. Once your best finished pieces and your details are with us, it is normally up in three days. Ads come later, once the website is up and your own Google Ads account is open, so no click is paid for before there is somewhere worth landing.
- Do I need good photos of my work?
- You need real ones. Send us photos of finished jobs, with close-ups of the joints and the finish where you have them, and we pick the strongest for each type of work. We write the words around them, and nothing goes live until you say yes.
- Can it show wardrobes, stairs and doors separately?
- On Momentum it is one page, split into the jobs you want most, each with its own photos. With Fast Start, every service and area you advertise gets its own page, so a wardrobe ad lands on wardrobes and a staircase ad lands on staircases.
- Most of my work comes from builders. Do I need a website?
- If builders keep your diary full of first and second fix at rates you are happy with, maybe not. A website earns its keep on homeowner work: the wardrobes, staircases and doors people choose by looking at what you have already built. If you want more of that, the website is where they look.
- Will it put me at the top of Google?
- We do not sell SEO, and Google says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking. The spot at the top when someone searches for a carpenter is an ad with a price per click, and that is what Fast Start buys for you, from an account in your name.
- Is there a contract?
- No. You pay by monthly Direct Debit with no minimum term, cancel through the form on our website or with your bank, and it ends at the close of that billing month.
- Do I own the website?
- You keep what it wins: your leads, your customers and your domain name, and on Fast Start the Google Ads account as well. The website build stays with us. It is live while you pay, and if you cancel it comes offline and cannot be moved elsewhere.
